Lay Llamas and Benoit Pioulard

benoitpiolard7inchThe Italian label Backwards is among my favourite labels since they started to release records in 2012. Control Unit and Wakinyan both delivered great albums that year through the label. Mirt is another personal favourite artist related to Backwards and the Fabrio Orsi album Endless Autumn is equally amazing… too bad it is only available on cd. And… also check out the Father Murphy 10″ while you dig into this…

Anyway… recently Backwards released some new records which are truly nice… One of them is the re-issue of the first Lay Llamas album… released on 2012 on tape. This album is the perfect record for this summer… trippy and spacey tunes that never over the edge psychedelic… it is quite relaxing music which works well while hiding in the shadows on a hot day… think some sort of Sun Ra Arkestra but not jazzy… if this makes any sense…

The other record is also a sort of re-issue… as the two songs on the Benoit Pioulard 7 inch are basically from 2000-2001. So from even before his debut release. For this new release the tracks are re-recorded. These two tracks are both typical for the artist as well as a great introduction to his work… The A side is dreamy song… a bit in between indie-pop and experimental folk while the B side is an ambient soundscape… very tranquil and soothing… and these two “styles” are basically which Benoit Pioulard works around in his music today…

A few copies of both records are available at the ET webshop… already available at the discogs shop and soon also through the new ET website/webshop…

Here is the B side of the Benoit Pioulard 7 inch…

And here is one piece by Lay Llamas…

Roberto Auser – Faceless Future EP

Somewhere early January Roberto Auser and I went by car to Rotterdam…during the way back he played me some demo’s he had been working on… afterwards he sent me all the tracks to listen to again… from my initial idea of doing a 7″ release it went to three 7″s to a 12″ EP… and the last one is now at the pressing plant…

This EP is entitled “Faceless Future” and contains 6 tracks with pure analogue old school minimal electronics… from rhythm based elektro tracks for the dancefloor to more experimental soundscapes…

The record pays tribute to pioneers of industrial music and early experimental elektro such as early Cabaret Voltaire and Front 242 but also to the more modern new wave of minimal electronics as re-invented by Le Syndicat Electronique…

“Faceless Future” is expected before summer and comes in a silk screened sleeve… of course printed by myself and Roberto Auser himself at Kapitaal in Utrecht… you can pre-order it here…

To kill the time until the release I uploaded a video of one track and a full track preview of another one… both are here below… enjoy!

Gooiland Elektro update

Gooiland_Elektro_logo_whiteAlready announced is a new Monocorpse 12″ EP… see the video posted below… next to that there is another release coming upon Gooiland Elekro… one by Utroid… hailing from Utrecht, The Netherlands… known before as Funxiun and BS-1… playing harsh elektro and techno before… and still doing that but in a more minimal way…

The EP “The Movement” is features four New Beat and acid influenced pieces… from rough and harsh beats to trippy and spacey tracks… all excellent stuff for the dancefloor…  promised!

Below is one full track preview… the record is expected before summer…

Monocorpse – Cease To Exist 12″ EP

Expected before summer… I think about early/mid July is a new EP by Monocorpse on Gooiland Elektro… this Dutch project blends (post-)techno, ritual and industrial sounds into spine chilling soundtracks for occult nighttime sessions…

While  the first EP “Ceremonie Caille” was thematically centred around voodoo… this new EP stays closer to home while taking its theme from The Family… and in that line the first video was edited… for the truly interested I do not need to explain this video footage and all… and for the non-informed it is a nice starting point to get into this record and the theme behind it…

mailorder update: Codex Empire and Blush Response

codexempire_2Both Codex Empire and Blush Response deliver a new 4 track 12″ EP on the Berlin based label Aufnahme + Wiedergabe… both projects are exponents of the current techno scene which blends dark goth inspired sounds from the 90’s and EBM rhythms with contemporary industrial techno music…

While Codex Empire is more into 90’s goth/darkwave when it comes to lending elements Blush Response seems to more focussed on (harsh) EBM… still both new EP’s will also interest fans of industrial music and especially those into rhythmic noise… think Ant-Zen style…

Both records can be ordered by through the ET mailorder or the ET discogs webshop… I only have a few copies of each… so be quick or be sorry…

Below you can listen to a full track of each release…

Demo tape

Artifecal_demoMost demo’s today are send as mp3 files or are links to a private Soundcloud page… and when I started with ET I received demo’s on cd-r… but in the old days demo’s were submitted on tape… and guess what… I received a real demo tape recently…

I do not accept demo’s in general but this demo is from a musician I already work with… maybe you remember the 7″ by Artifecal released in 2011 on the now defunct Hex sublabel… so the musician behind this project sent me this tape (60 minutes long I believe) filled with demo recordings from various of his projects… and a lot of the stuff is really great… non-typical minimal synth, post-punk and new wave sounds which will appeal to all who really like the obscure side of these styles…

These are real demo’s meaning not final recordings… often without vocals still… so I am curious to get the final versions… as I am quite sure a nice record could be moulded out of these demo tracks!

dj M. – Secret Archive Mix

Not long ago I delved into my archive to see what was there for lost treasures… with my findings I did a mixtape… this dj set was recently published by the In Disarray blog/podcast platform (In Disarray 021)… now I also put it online on my mixcloud page… but you can listen to it here too…

As said this mix features unreleased archive tracks from the Enfant Terrible vaults… the material ranges from 2003 up to 2015… so from the true beginnings of the label (first record was released in 2004) up to the very present…

For various reasons these tracks have not been released… some were part of records already mastered and with finished artwork but were withdrawn in the end… other pieces are tracks not selected for the final record which saw the light… and some of the music has a totally different story…

This mix also shows the range of synth sounds that finds its home on my label… from poppy minimal synth to more experimental IDM stuff… still all tracks have some key essentials typical for Enfant Terrible… the music is electronic, minimal and obscure…

Here is the playlist:

Tv Tv Tunnelbana – Watching Neighbours

Adolf Filter – Dom Ver Flera

:Codes – Missed Appointment

La Mort De L’Hippocampe – La Vérité

Onont Kombar – Etwas Böses

Jongbloed – Elektro #1

Decollage – After The Silence

Radak – Lets Defeat Time

Milligram Retreat – The Knitted Bridge Of Keelah

Le Traingle De L’Androgyne – The Prophecy

Okrium – Melancolica Expresion

Oplen – Oroligheter

Osty

Osty is a project coming from the same Polish electronic music collective as Marburg and FOQL… their music is a strange mix of techno, ambient, acid, industrial and trance…

The project is featured on the new Gooiland Elektro compilation “Noblesse Oblige”… next to the track on “Noblesse Oblige” they released their debut cassette recently… here is a video of one of the tracks from that tape…

By the way Osty is the Polish word for the Dutch “distel”… so two project I have released on ET carry the same name…
